Thank you for considering using our practice as your child’s Medical Home. Our entire staff looks forward to making your child’s visit a positive experience that will translate into a lifetime of well-being. Since we specialize in the health, welfare, and development of children from birth to young adulthood we have carefully structured our office for their comfort, special needs and enjoyment. We provide in-house specialties in asthma, emergency care, lactation, chronic care, and behavioral needs. We try very hard to offer the most progressive, kid-friendly services in the Kentuckiana area. We have an electronic records system that allows us to access any of your child’s medical history quickly. We also have an electronic prescription program that allows us to send your child’s prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. This is for your convenience to eliminate additional trips to the pharmacy. When your child is ill we will do our best to accommodate you with the first available appointment that day. Recognizing that nurturing a child back to good health requires a lot of energy from everyone involved, we will be here to offer our expertise and compassion in that process. In the event that your child needs to be hospitalized for an injury or illness, we would admit him or her to either Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville or Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
Pediatric care encompasses a broad spectrum of health services ranging from preventive health care to the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Providing periodic physical examinations and immunizations will better ensure that your child will remain healthy. Such “well child” visits also allow us the opportunity to provide education about healthful living including safety guidance, the importance of proper exercise and nutrition, discussions on child behavior…and the many challenges that lie ahead!
As your pediatricians we will follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics which are designed to provide maximal health care for your child. These guidelines specify periodic exams that include immunizations, blood counts, urinalyses, and screenings such as developmental, hearing and vision. All drugs, vaccines, procedures and treatments are used in accordance with standards recognized by national authorities.
